The pastor search committee recommended that the church call Rev. Rob Parrott. At that time he was pastoring a church in Oklahoma. His first Sunday at Calvary was October 13, 2002. During Pastor Rob's short ministry, necessary administrative changes were made. Mr. Kevin Groves, who was serving as youth and praise/worship leader, was hired on April 27, 2003, to serve as full-time outreach, youth, and media.

Rev. Parrott resigned in September 2003 after serving almost a year. The deacons then asked the ministerial staff to be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the church. Mr. Kevin Groves began preaching the Sunday morning service and Rev. Fitzhugh Fennell, Jr., a member of the church, preached at the Sunday evening services. Rev. Billy Batten, who had served many years at College Acres Baptist church in Wilmington, was called, November 3, 2002, to serve as minister of music. This staff arrangement proved to work well and eased our economic situation during a time when our finances were low.
